Where is the Humanity?

Where is the humanity?

razorbackwriteraus's avatarrazorbackwriteraus

The visions on the screen haunt my waking hours

People suffering in so many ways, so many places

It’s hard to fathom it all

My heart cries and my voice shouts at the screen

The world is mad, I tell myself

The compassion and humanity I yearn to see, replaced by desensitization

What ever happened to the Great Australian nation?

Men in suits with agendas that have nothing to do with the chaos

Twisting their words, spun into grand ideals that bare no fruit

When did the public voice go unheard?

Even the average Joe knows dropping bombs won’t solve a thing

It’s a war that no one can win

Irish water charges has the country boiling over with anger

Fat cats at the Crazymad Writer

I am the Minister for Water, the Minister I am,
The Minister for Water for all of Ireland,
This fair and green county suffering such pain,
A shortage of water despite so much rain.
*
The snow it has gone, replaced by a flood,
Threatening to cover us under inches of mud,
But that’s not my care, not part of my tack,
I am the Minister for Water, not mud; it’s a fact.
*
Leave me alone; free to get on with my job,
Saving the planet while making a few bob,
Lining my nest before my time it has gone,
When I’m voted out of office having done nothing wrong.

I’m mad and getting madder!

Stories for children and young at heart adults

I’m mad and getting madder,

It’s black and white; my writing’s all around,

And oh, I must be getting madder,

And all this show is trying to get me down.

*

There’s a story in the making slowly dying away,

Sometimes I just don’t feel like writing on anymore,

And yet I know it’s more than worth the straining,

For another chance to write another day,

Come on, read with me.

*

There’s a bookshelf in the corner slowly crumbling away,

Sometimes I just don’t feel like writing on anymore,

And yet I know it’s more than worth the straining away,

For another chance to write on the anon,

Come on, read with me.
