The Crazymad Writer got stuck in the lavatory

99 cent eBooks

Oh, dear what can the matter be?

Crazymad Writer got stuck in the lavatory,

He was there from Sunday to Saturday,

Nobody knew he was there.

*

The first bad day was ever so grim,

Sat there; it was incredibly dim,

Away from the light ‘tween bowl and the rim

And nobody knew he was there

*

The third bad day was really no better,

Stuck inside, looking for paper,

All he could find was a bricklayer’s scraper,

And nobody knew he was there.

*

The fourth bad day was a terrible mess,

Stuck in that place, amidst smell and cess,

Then he slipped on the floor and hurt – you can guess,

And nobody knew he was there.

Let’s go Fly a Kite

With tuppence for paper and string, Horace had his own set of wings,

With his feet on the ground he was a bird in flight,

With his fist holding tight to the string of his kite.

Oh, oh, oh, Let’s go fly a kite,

Up to the highest heights!

Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring,

Up through the atmosphere,

Up where the air is clear,

Oh, let’s go fly a kite.

*

When he sent it flying up there,

All at once he was lighter than air,

He danced on the breeze over houses and trees,

With his fist holding tight to the string of his kite.

Oh, oh, oh, Let’s go fly a kite,

Up to the highest heights!

Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring,

Up through the atmosphere,

Up where the air is clear,

Oh, let’s go fly a kite.

Hurdy Gurdy Man – Donovan

Hurdy Gurdy Man – Donovan

“Hurdy Gurdy Man” with extra verse from “Live in Japan 1973” album.

Thrown like a star in my vast sleep
I opened my eyes to take a peek
To find that I was by the sea
Gazing with tranquility

‘Tis then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
He comes singing the songs of love
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
He comes singing the songs of love

“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang

Histories of ages past
Hung in light and shadows cast
Down through all eternity
The crying of humanity

‘Tis then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
He comes singing the songs of love
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
He comes singing the songs of love

“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang

Extra verse (written by George Harrison and Donovan)

When truth gets very deep
Beneath a thousand years of sleep
Time demands a turn around
And once again the truth is found

Awakening the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Who comes singing the songs of love
Here come the Hurdy Gurdy Man
And his singing the songs of love

“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy”, he sang.

The Whizzpopper Song, by The BFG (and Sophie)

“A whizzpopper!” cried the BFG, beaming at her. “Us giants is making whizzpoppers all the time! Whizzpopping is a sign of happiness. It is music in our ears! You surely is not telling me that a little whizzpopping if forbidden among human beans?”
― Roald Dahl, The BFG

Cat Stevens – Father and Son

**********************************

Father and Son, Part Two – Thirty Years On

(Inspired by the original version written by Cat Stevens).

Father:
It’s now time to make a change,
Not relax or take it easy.
You’re grown up, that’s so good,
But there’s still so much to do.
You’ve a wife, and a child,
You settled down, and you married.
I am gone, though I’m gone, I am happy.

I can now recall a time, and admit it wasn’t easy,
To be calm in the turmoil we call youth.
But I have travelled, journeyed on,
To a time, a place we all can reach.
Where our yesterdays and morrows are at peace with today.

Son:
You don’t need to explain; though you’ve gone we are now closer.
Though the story’s the same, we have changed.
We were so caught up in talk it was impossible to listen.
It took me time, now I know I don’t have to go away.
I don’t have to go.

Father:
It’s now time to make change,
Get right on, embrace it.
You’re grown up, that’s so good,
But there’s still so much you can do.
You’ve a wife, and a child,
You settled down, you married.
I am gone, I am gone, but I’m happy.

Son:
No more times, wasted times, hiding truth I knew was deep inside,
It’s good, but even better in sharing.
Yes, they were right, I agree, I’m free to know you and me.
Now I can see and I know I don’t have to go away.
I don’t have to go.

(Optional Extra Verse)
Son:
My Father, you and I, we cannot, must not be kept apart in time,
We’ll soon be rejoined in the heavens.
Where time will be all gone; and thus unshackled from our minds
We’ll all be free, and we’ll know we don’t have to go away.
We won’t have to go.

Oh, To Have Legs…

Slug

Oh to have legs like insects and things,

To walk on all fours is something I dream,

Or even just two, like HU-MAN THEINGS.

Would make me so happy, would realise my dreams

*

I dream of the day, I grow legs and see,

What it feels like to walk, not slime so lowly,

You see, I am a poor slug with no legs at all,

A garbled old thing, just slime and slow drawl.

*

Now don’t get me wrong it’s not all bad, I confess,

There are some perks living in a damp mess,

But I cannot help wonder about legs, I admit,

Oh lord give me legs, be it two, four or six.

I am a Troll and I live in a hole

I am a troll and I live in a hole.
