Humpty Dumpty

stories for children

Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men,

Laughed at Dumpty, broken in pain.

 **********

Will you save? Humpty asked in his pain?

My shell it is cracked and also my brain.

If nothing is done by horse or by man.

My time will be gone from nursery rhyme land.

 **********

The king’s horses and also his men,

Felt sorry for laughing at the egg in his pain.

So fetching some glue – and super at that,

They stuck him together though ever so cracked.

Welcome to my CRAZYMAD Website

children's stories

Welcome to my CRAZYMAD Website

Hello and welcome to my CRAZYMAD website, a place where I try to share with you, the reader, an impression of what it has been like, having to live through, to endure so many weird, wacky and oftentimes wonderful situations that I have found myself in during my CRAZYMAD life. I have no idea why I such things happened to me – but they did. All that that I can think of, can say by way of explanation, is that we all experience CRAZYMAD things during our short time here on earth, but prefer to erase them from our consciousness, preferring to recall only the mundane day-to-day situations that help us to ‘fit in’ and to ‘be normal’.
Our collective consciousness seems to have ‘developed’ to the stage where we prefer to hear and read about ‘celebrities’ and their lives of vulgar excess, rather than living our own lives in which we can follow own dreams and do almost anything we want, if we feel so inclined, that is. Having said that, I invite you to read each and every one of the stories that I have included in my CRAZYMAD website; from my early childhood all the way through to my adult life. And when you have read them, I strongly urge you to look deep within yourself, and to live your own CRAZYMAD life to the full. Meanwhile, sit back and enjoy your trip though my CRAZYMAD website, and know you this; each and every story is TRUE!

My CRAZYMAD Life: Grasshoppers, anyone?

giant-grasshopper

My CRAZYMAD Life: Grasshoppers, anyone?

I told you in an earlier blog post how much I have traveled, to places like Africa, The Philippians, Europe (I loved Venice), Australia, Egypt, Thailand – even Cuba.
One of the most recent countries that I have had the pleasure of visiting is Madeira. It’s a small and quiet place, but there is something so special about it. I can’t quite put my finger on it, though. I will be returning there again.
In case you’re wondering why there is a picture of a grasshopper at the top of this page,
I will explain…
I ate grasshoppers, and giant ones at that!!!
I ate them while holidaying in Thailand – and they were okay – they really were. The locals deep-fry them in oil, like chips, yummy. Having said that, I have to admit that I tactfully refused the offer of deep-fried scorpions – I had to draw the line somewhere!

Haroldstown Dolmen

haroldstown dolmen

Haroldstown Dolmen

Harolodstown Dolmen sits quite in a field,

Alone and uncared for adrift from the real,

From the life we consider so important, though rushed,

Yet it will be there when we’re gone, when we’re hushed.

Older than pyramids and older than sea,

Haroldstown Dolmen contained and yet free,

It’s neighbous are cattle, some sheep and a goat,

Blissfully unaware of its significant note.

 *

It’s a place of sanctitude, a place to set free,

Your mind and your spirit, your heart and your chi,

To rest for a while away from the rush,

Of everyday life and of everyday fuss.

*

Some tourists do seek it out now and then,

Taking a photo or two then moving on again,

Perhaps one day it will be known far and near,

As the dolmen of sanctitude; a place so rare.

Let’s go Fly a Kite

With tuppence for paper and string, Horace had his own set of wings,

With his feet on the ground he was a bird in flight,

With his fist holding tight to the string of his kite.

Oh, oh, oh, Let’s go fly a kite,

Up to the highest heights!

Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring,

Up through the atmosphere,

Up where the air is clear,

Oh, let’s go fly a kite.

*

When he sent it flying up there,

All at once he was lighter than air,

He danced on the breeze over houses and trees,

With his fist holding tight to the string of his kite.

Oh, oh, oh, Let’s go fly a kite,

Up to the highest heights!

Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring,

Up through the atmosphere,

Up where the air is clear,

Oh, let’s go fly a kite.

I love to have a beer with Duncan

I love to have a beer with Duncan

Lyrics by Slim Dusty

I love to have a beer with Duncan
I love to have a beer with Dunc.
We drink in moderation
And we never ever ever get rollin’ drunk
We drink at the Town and Country
Where the atmosphere is great
I love to have a beer with Duncan
‘Cause Duncan’s me mate, yeah

I love to have a beer with Colin
I love to have a beer with Col.
We drink in moderation
And it doesn’t really matter if he brings his doll
We drink at the Town and Country
Where the atmosphere is great
I love to have a beer with Colin
‘Cause Colin’s me mate, mm-mm-mm

I love to have a beer with Kevin
Oh I love to have a beer with Kev.
We drink in moderation
And he drives me home in his big old Chev.
We drink at the Town and Country
Where the atmosphere is great
I love to have a beer with Kevin
‘Cause Kevin’s me mate

I love to have a beer with Patrick
I love to have a beer with Pat
We drink in moderation
And it wouldn’t really matter if the beer was flat
We drink at the Town and Country
Where the atmosphere is great
I love to have a beer with Patrick
‘Cause Patrick’s me mate – Change key

I love to have a beer with Robert
I love to have a beer with Bob
We drink in moderation
Just one more and back on the job
We drink at the Town and Country
Where the atmosphere is great
I love to have a beer with Robert
‘Cause Robert’s me mate

I love to have a beer with Duncan
Oh I love to have a beer with Dunc.
We drink in moderation
And we never ever ever get rollin’ drunk
We drink at the Town and Country
Where the atmosphere is great
I love to have a beer with Duncan
‘Cause Duncan’s me mate.

Passing Through

Passing Through

Normal people,
Passing by,
Normal persons,
I wonder why,
They never question,
Never see,
Cannot ponder,
You or me.

*

Their world is full,
Of senseless pain,
Pointless work,
That has no aim,
There is no rhyme,
Or reason why,
All they do is run,
Not try.

*

They need to stop,
To look around,
To take the time,
And feel the ground,
To see the sky above,
So blue,
To feel God’s love,
For them, so true.

I am an…

I am black, I am blind,

I am a slave, who has no free will,

I work for the good of all, not for the sake of the individual,

I have no dreams, I have no plans, I receive no rewards,

I am conditioned to serve, I do so without complaint,

And I will continue until the day I die,

I am – an ant.

Searching…

Searching…

What is peace – does anyone really know?

I’ve searched so hard, but it evades me so!

Will I ever know its sweet embrace,

Its soothing touch, its saving grace?

Or will I just fumble from day to day,

‘Till I can dream no more and fade away?

Originally Intended for publication on April 1st.

I just I heard that the earth is flat,

That all these years it’s been like a mat,

That you hardly see or notice there,

Until you are told the earth is square.

If it is square then I am sure,

What I’ve been told is oh so flawed.

But perhaps it’s all a dream of sorts,

And when I awake all will be as before.

And if it’s not then I must learn,

Not to walk too far, lest I fall off the edge.
